Community Engagement
At Greenfield Early Learning Centre we build and maintain relationships with the community. We encourage the future generation to connect and contribute to their world as we follow the proverb,’’ it takes a community to raise a child’’. Relationships with people influence the way a child’s brain develops. Community relationships define who children are, what they become and why they are important. To increase community engagement at Greenfield early, we include following activities in our curriculum program:
- Walks around the community, from babies to kindergarten including shops, post offices and parks
- Incursions from various occupational representatives
- Visits from and to the library
- Visits from dentists to promote dental hygiene to assist our tooth brushing dental hygiene program
- Road safety talks and walks, compromising of visits to road traffic schools
- Concerts at retirement homes and visits from grandparents to read books with children
- School Readiness program
